連續2年獲得美聯MVP的Miguel Cabrera傳出壞消息，總教練Brad Ausmus證實他右腳踝有骨刺，但9日仍帶傷上陣以指定打擊出賽。

昨天(8日)Cabrera擔任一壘手，打完7局之後退場休息，今天(9日)以指定打擊出賽，5打數擊出2支安打。

總教練Ausmus證實，這位MVP等級的重砲手正在因傷所苦，「就只有一根骨刺，也是導致發炎的原因。休息能夠幫助Cabrera減緩傷勢，或者要開刀根治，這我們都還不清楚。」

Cabrera開季手感並不好，累積出賽141場已經有拉回水準，打擊三圍0.311/0.370/0.517(打擊率/上壘率/長打率)，有22支全壘打101分打點。

目前老虎79勝65敗在美聯中區落後皇家1場，外卡也只落後0.5場，如此關鍵時刻，老虎確實非常需要Cabrera的棒子來打天下。
